The Rape of Innocence: Taking Captivity Captive by Lacresha Hayes

The Rape of Innocence is the testimony of a child growing up mostly without her mother and going through incest, rape and molestation. It's a story of a child who grew up too fast, enduring the worst of hardships. She details the struggles of growing up without God and then being disillusioned in the churches by hypocrisy.
This book chronicles the life of a child who became a woman of God, business owner, author, and wife to a pastor. What should have been impossible, God made possible! This book is for every woman who knows what pain feels like. This book is for every Christian who has been hurt or disappointed in the ministry. Come share the tears and the joys of triumphant victory.

I've been seeing this book everywhere. I'm starting to get interested. I just hate reading sad stories.

Dear anonymous,

I know just how you feel. I get far too disturbed by stories like this myself. I do know that in the end, this is a success story, for Lacresha has overcome her past to have a family, friends and ministry of her own. You might want to check out her blog at http://learntofeelpretty.blogspot.com/2008/02/surprising-reply-to-my-interview-with.html

Blessings,

Karina,

I've read the book, hon. It was a true blessing for me. I did spend part of the book crying, part laughing and a lot of it celebrating. She told some very hard truths and I was proud and shouting down the Lamb. Some stuff she said was like a "d'oh" moment for me. Anyway, I recommend it.
